The Despot have unleashed a monster in 'Lies' which gives you a taste of what's to come from the near future. It's filled with crushing guitar riffs with some amazing technical work that is executed beautifully, fast and clean sounding drumming that makes you want to bang your head hard and vocals that will be sure to make your neighbours call the nearest priest for an emergency exorcism. This song speeds its way through, like a steam train accompanied
with manic screams, blast beats, evil guitar melodies and devastating
breakdowns. It's bands like The Despot that restore faith among a somewhat underdog genre of music, they work hard to make the best music possible and it ends up paying off with happy listeners. The quality is definitely here and The Despot fellas are here to scream in your face and get you moving in that pit. This face pummeling track definitely leaves you wanting more from this group of young lads and I'm very excited to hear what comes next.
