Paradise In Exile from Perth, Western
Australia have only just got my attention recently with the release of their
debut EP titled 'The Liberation.' A devastating and relentless effort which
definitely leaves an impact, it has me excited and wanting more from these guys
already.
Produced by Roland
Lim, who has featured on some amazing releases such as Make Them Suffer's debut
album 'Neverbloom.' It's straight up in your face from the moment it starts,
right to the very end. Most new bands are going for the EP release first rather
than bringing out a full length album, which is smart. It's enough to get your
name out there and still have a good amount of songs to play live while you
tour and promote the band. The Death Metal/Deathcore scene is very hard to
become successful in and it really does take a lot of effort and dedication to
make it these days with so many other bands trying the same thing. Paradise
In Exile have done an incredible job with this 6-track EP and with all
their promoting and touring, I think they will go far in this genre if they
chose to keep it up.
What does it sound
like? Well it's heavy as hell and very fast. The guitars sound great on here as
does the drumming, if you like it a bit technical here and there. Some really
innovative parts I've noticed also which I haven't heard before and it really
impressed me. My personal favourite track 'Interim' features an amazing
breakdown at the 3-minute mark of the song, very cool indeed. The vocals are
just how I like them; harsh, heavy and brutal with no cleans and no unnecessary
high pitched screams. This is a very well-produced EP from these guys and I highly
recommend you go and check them out. I've heard some really amazing bands come
out from Perth lately and Paradise In Exile are definitely up there with
one of the best. Check out the link below and if you like what you hear, go and
support this band so they can give us more great music. BUY this EP and suss
